About Kobold's Kitchen

Originally from the Midwest, Theodore Geiger’s professional background is in food safety and quality assurance, mixing his love of cooking with his desire to provide the very best to customers. However, in the lab, he felt like he was missing the community connection that food is all about.

Theodore then had the opportunity to work at the first board game lounge in North Carolina. Inspiration sparked, and he knew he could provide the type of community gathering space he was looking for around his two loves: food and board games.

After a wild road trip from Minnesota and across the East Coast to buy as many quality board games as he could, Theodore found his home in Grand Rapids. He soon brought on Ashley Wilson, Head Baker and General Manager, to share the vision of a board game cafe and full service restaurant. Together, Theodore and Ashley oversaw the complete renovation of the old Fat Boy Diner to turn it into the fun, welcoming atmosphere it is today.
